There is a moody, understated cool to this pair of coloured number plates that works brilliantly in the metal. From a distance the gel lettering reads as clean gloss black, but step closer and a thin band of deep dark purple glows out around every character. It is a subtle bit of colour that gives these show plates a proper custom edge without shouting about it.
The Build
Each character is built up from a 3mm dark purple acrylic layer with a black gel resin sat on top, so a slim line of purple peeks out around the glossy black crown of every letter. It is a two-tone effect that really comes alive in the light, giving depth and a hint of colour that plain black lettering just cannot offer. The gel top is hard-wearing and keeps its gloss, and the layered acrylic holds its colour.
Show Style and Spacing
This pair was made as show plates with show spacing, meaning the characters are set out tight and even for looks rather than to the legal layout, so as pictured they are intended for shows, photos and display rather than the road.
